Polyjacking: how it works and when it's the right call.
Whatever term a homeowner uses, slab jacking works the same way in practice: small holes are drilled through the sunken slab, material is injected under the slab through those holes, the material fills the void left by soil that washed out, shrank, or settled, and the slab is monitored as it rises back toward its original position. Epp Foundation Repair's crews use polyurethane foam for this, injected through small ports and monitored with a laser level so the lift stays even across the slab. Not every sunken slab is a slab jacking candidate. The concrete itself has to be structurally sound enough to lift. A slab that is already broken into multiple pieces, has extensive rusted-through reinforcement, or shows severe surface deterioration is not a good candidate for lifting; Epp will say so at the inspection and point the homeowner toward replacement instead. A slab that is otherwise intact but has dropped out of level, cracked at a joint, or created a tripping edge is usually the kind of slab jacking is built for. The inspection is what decides which category a slab falls into, not the size of the drop alone.

Step 01.Candidate evaluation
Epp Foundation Repair checks whether the slab is structurally sound enough to lift, measures the settlement, and probes for the void underneath before recommending slab jacking over replacement.
Step 02.Port drilling and foam injection
Small ports are drilled through the slab and polyurethane foam is injected underneath, filling the void and lifting the slab as the foam expands.
Step 03.Laser-monitored lift and patch
A laser level tracks the slab's elevation during injection so the lift stays even, and the ports are patched with a color-matched compound once the target elevation is reached.
