Yes. And we plan for it. We ask every ag client for their harvest window during the first conversation. Jobs that can be scheduled pre-harvest or post-harvest are. Jobs that have to happen during critical seasons get planned around bin rotation schedules and crop movement. We've worked around corn harvest, soybean harvest, and spring planting windows for decades.

Grain bins generate enormous cyclical loads. A 48-foot bin full of corn weighs over 2 million pounds. That load compresses underlying loess or clay soils over time, especially when combined with irrigation water or drainage issues near the ring wall. Settlement is almost always gradual, not sudden, but a 2-inch tilt on a 48-foot bin puts significant stress on the anchor bolts and cone floor. That kind of gradual soil movement is exactly what our ag soil stabilization service is built to correct.

It depends on the severity and repair method. Minor ring wall crack repair can typically be done with grain in the bin. Underpinning or slab lifting under a full bin is not safe. We'd need the bin emptied for access and load relief. For partial fills, we assess case by case. Never try to repair under a full bin without an engineering assessment of the grain bin foundation failure.

We work on farms and rural sites across our Nebraska and Iowa service area regularly. Our equipment fits on improved field roads and can operate on gravel pads if a concrete pad isn't present.
