What this looks likeUneven Concrete Slabs
Frost reaches 36 to 42 inches here and the ground cycles through freeze and thaw 60 to 80 times in a normal year, which is what lifts and drops a slab under the 1,650 detached houses in Glenwood.

Why foundations move in Glenwood
What is under the ground here
Sampled inside the Glenwood city limits, the USDA survey reads Ida at about 60 percent of the survey, with Kennebec and Monona alongside it. By texture that survey runs 50 percent clay and 40 percent silt. Linear extensibility, the measure of how much a soil swells when it takes on water and shrinks when it dries, is weighted at 4.21 percent here, which USDA reads as moderate shrink swell potential.
The seasonal cycle here
Ground here freezes to 36 to 42 inches and cycles through freeze and thaw 60 to 80 times a year. Rainfall of 35 to 40 inches a year is enough to load a wall in a wet spring and pull away from it in a dry summer.
The age of the housing
The typical house dates to 1972, and the single biggest block of the stock, 618 homes, went up in the 1970s. The 1,695 homes finished before 1980 are the ones where drainage was rarely engineered and backfill was rarely compacted. Of the owner occupied homes, 64 percent carry a mortgage.

What Omaha customers say
Brenton and Sam were both really great to work with. I felt like everything was well explained & the whole process was quick and seamless.
Work done to-date is high quality, however I'm not satisfied with the 1'" elevation difference between the last pad (south end) of the sidewalk and the driveway/ neighbor's walk. Can this be fixed? Also, the project was expected to be completed in 2-3 days but its been weeks and it still not complete. This was not a great incontinence just had to recontact, and review before getting the final corner poured. There is sealing yet to finish on the corner and a few mud jack holes to patch.
We have been getting water in our basement and decided it was time to call Epp foundation repair. Dustin P came out to take a look around. He was very informative & very polite & helpful!
