About Fremont
What Fremont looks like from the truck
Fremont sits in Dodge County, Nebraska. Census figures put the town at about 27,230 residents and 10,751 households. The town runs 60 percent owner occupied, with 8,165 detached single family homes in the mix.
The crew that covers Fremont works out of our Omaha office, 24 miles away, about 30 minutes on the road. Across Dodge County as a whole there are 12,231 detached single family homes, and 67 percent of occupied housing is owner occupied. Those households are roughly 65 percent of the Dodge County total. The county around it counts about 37,146 residents across 16,553 housing units. Building peaked before 1940 at 2,251 homes, which is why the median year built sits at 1964. The survey reports a median home value of $174,000 and a median household income of $62,226. 6,479 of those homes are lived in by their owners and 4,272 are rented. 8,516 of those homes were finished before 1980, 79 percent of everything standing.

Why foundations move in Fremont
The soil, and what it does
The USDA soil survey inside Fremont comes back Gibbon at about 40 percent of the survey, with Luton and Zook alongside it. The texture split is 73 percent clay, 8 percent silt and 8 percent sand. Weighted linear extensibility runs 4.8 percent, meaning the soil changes volume enough between wet and dry to rate moderate for shrink swell. Against 73 percent clay across Dodge County, the city sample reads 80 percent.
The seasonal cycle here
A frost line of 36 to 42 inches and 60 to 80 freeze thaw cycles a year are the backdrop to every foundation in this area. The ground takes on 35 to 40 inches a year of water and gives it back, which is the cycle a wall has to survive.
What these homes were built like
The years before 1940 put up more homes than any other decade, 2,251 of them, and the median year built is 1964. The 8,516 homes finished before 1980 are the ones where drainage was rarely engineered and backfill was rarely compacted. 15 percent of the housing here, 1,581 units, sits in buildings of five or more, so a fair share of local work is on shared structures rather than single family homes. Mortgages sit on 61 percent of the owner occupied homes in Fremont.

What Omaha customers say
Work done to-date is high quality, however I'm not satisfied with the 1'" elevation difference between the last pad (south end) of the sidewalk and the driveway/ neighbor's walk. Can this be fixed? Also, the project was expected to be completed in 2-3 days but its been weeks and it still not complete. This was not a great incontinence just had to recontact, and review before getting the final corner poured. There is sealing yet to finish on the corner and a few mud jack holes to patch.
We have been getting water in our basement and decided it was time to call Epp foundation repair. Dustin P came out to take a look around. He was very informative & very polite & helpful! Dustin P Suggested that we put a sump pump in. So we planned on a date & time & the guys showed up & got it all done! Would definitely recommend Epp Foundation repair if you’re Having any foundation problems that need done.
EPP was very professional and down to earth. They said what they did, and did what they said. I am secure in knowing that my basement will not collapse at any moment. The crack is almost gone.
